After 13 years of catapulting unknowns into the bright lights of the music world the show will end after next season. I’m sad but not surprised. The only parts of the show I enjoyed were the auditions and Hollywood Week. After that, I no longer watched and didn’t care who won. On the same note (no pun intended) I really like the judges now. Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. bring a lot to the table and give excellent advice and constructive criticism to the contestants.
American Idol went through some very rough patches for a few years starting with judges leaving and trying to find good replacements that didn’t work out. I personally think their worst decision for judges were Mairah Carey and Nikki Minaj. I skipped that season all together; yes, even the auditions portion of the show.
I felt that American Idol had ran its course but with the judges present now I felt the show might be able to carry on. But, sadly, that won’t be the case.
